A report released this week by the The English Housing Survey (EHS) has found the number of first time buyers has not changed in the last 10 years, but numbers are down on 20 years ago.
The Land Registry report this week show the the average price of a property in the UK stood at £220,094 in April this year.
Home buyers in London down 19% in the first quarter compared to a year ago.
According to figures released today by the Council for Mortgage Lenders, home buyers borrowed £5.4bn for house purchase, which is down 3% quarter-on-quarter and 22% year-on-year.
